So many people are focused on the finish line. Get a job, then kids and settle in.
But people tend to focus so hard on the end goal that they forget to enjoy the process.
Sometimes I force myself to stop and just breath in the moment. Enjoy where I am and how far I have to go. There is no rush to the end line because I know that I have time before I need to accomplish my goals.
Sometimes you have those really interesting moments that you know you will tell people about until your old and gray. But if you are so focused on the finish line those moments are going to go by so fast. You’ll end up regretting that you did not stop to embrace them.
I am in the transition zone now. I got married a year ago and people constantly ask me when I’m going to have a family. My answer is always ‘when I’m ready’. I don’t feel ready to focus completely on developing a child. I have a lot I need to work on first.
I want to bring a child into the world when I know I can give them the best version of my self. Is that in a year or in five? No idea! We will have to see. But rushing to the next stage in life takes the joy out of the current stage you are in!
Enjoy where you are in life. You are always going to be evolving. So give yourselve time to take in where you are and how far you have come. Don’t rush to the end line. Its time to pat yourself on the back and breath in the good times.
Everyone knows that laughter is the best medicine.
Lately I have started to watch stand up comedies before my work day. Once I have everything packed up and breakfast ready I will sit down with my husband to enjoy some good laughs. This really puts me in a great mind set before a stressful workday.
Then when we come home, and put on another comedian while we are relaxing. I find that this constant laughter has really improved my mental health over the last few weeks. Especially since most of the comedians are making fun of some pretty intense issues that are going on in the world today.
If you want to see some good improvement in your life try to make laughing everyday mandatory. Whether this is in the form of stand up comedians or looking at funny animal videos it all helps in the long run.
If you are looking for help in this area or would like to figure out a fool proof way to increase your overall happiness feel free to contact me! I am starting my Health Coaching business in January 2020 and would love the opportunity to help! Together we can find the happiest version of yourself!
Starting January, I will be practicing as an Integrative Nutrition Health Coach. This experience has been an enlightening one, and I am very thankful to have started this journey. I believe that Health Coaching is going to become more prominent in the next few years as people start to become more health conscious. With our busy lifestyles, typically, we do not spend enough time taking care of our health. To have someone who is dedicated to putting in time for researching how to create a healthy lifestyle with in your busy schedule would be pretty awesome now wouldn’t it? Someone that will hold you accountable to your goals, and walk you through the vast amount of nutritional recommendations to find what works for you.
At Integrative Nutrition they train their health coaches to work with not only the nutritional aspect of their clients lives but also everything else. How are their relationships? Career? Spirituality? and Activity? A lack in any of these important areas can present in sugar cravings, inability to sleep, weight gain or loss, and low energy. The goal is to create a completely healthy lifestyle in every area of your life.
There has been a big push towards healthy living in the last few years. Doctors are starting to suggest a change in life style more frequently to address multiple different health conditions. There are so many different conflicting nutritional recommendations out there. Low Carb, gluten free, vegan, vegetarian, raw food, and ect. How are you supposed to figure out which one works for you? Health Coaches make this process easy to handle. We will help develop a plan that makes you reach your full potential. We figure out the problem areas in your life and adjust a strategy that will instill lifestyle changes.
Everyone needs a helping hand every once in a while. Most of the time we allow your health to fall by the wayside in our busy lives. Think of your health coach as your support system to help you achieve that healthy lifestyle you have always been looking for! Its going to be 2020 in a month! Lets start off the new year right!
What is a health coach? We are what some might call the ‘missing link’ between doctors and their patients well being. How many times has your doctor given you a recommendation that you had a hard time following? Like giving up sweets, or exercising more? But you are having a hard time implementing these changes. As a health coach we help you to develop strategies that work for you to create life long lasting changes that will improve your overall wellness.
I am a Integrative Nutrition Health Coach which is slightly different than the typical coach. Integrative nutrition sees what you eat as secondary to your total health. Don’t get me wrong, eating healthy is an amazing way to improve your life. Unfortunately, you can eat all the clean food in the world but if you are stressing about things like work or relationships you are not going to be able to lose that weight or stop the sugar cravings. What we do as an Integrative Nutrition Health Coach is we look at the big picture. Whats going on in every aspect of your lives? We are focused on the complete picture and not just how to alleviate symptoms. But if you are still unsure about whether you need one or not take a look below.
Reason One: You are doing everything right but still can not drop the weight.
As I stated earlier, you can eat all the green veggies you want but that is not going to help if you are having problems in another area in your life. As your health coach I would assess the areas that you are not completely happy with and create a plan that will help you improve.
Reason Two: You know what you need to do to become healthier you are just having a hard time putting it into practice.
As in integrative nutrition health coach we are trained in how to develop individualized strategies that are tailored to you and your life style. This will greatly improve the ability to make those lifestyle changes that you are trying to make. We hold you accountable to your progress, and focus on your own needs. We also partner with other health professionals to help take their recommendations and apply it to you.
Reason Three: You want to become healthier but you do not know where to start
Everyone says you need to eat better to feel better. But quinoa? Miso? Chick peas? There are so many items out there that people swear by. But really, what is the best? The only person who can answer that is you! Your body is different from everyone else. Something that you might thrive on can create health problems in another. As a health coach I will help you navigate the world of healthy eating to find what is right for you. I can take you on a tour of your local grocery or health food store and help you understand what is out there. Between recipes and food prep I can help guide you to that better life you want.
Not many people today take time to focus on themselves. We are all busy people after all. Its easy to let our health fall by the way side when we have other responsibilities. As a health coach I can take the pressure off you by focusing on you! What would make your life better, and how can we start adding those things in.
Haha, seems funny to be thankful for something that really takes time away from the fun things in life. But if it wasn’t for my job I would not be able to have a lot of fun. Do the things that I enjoy. Or take care of the people that I love.
Life is about balance. You need to put in work to be able to truely enjoy your downtime. My job keeps me grounded, and the people I work with are pretty awesome. So take some time this Thanksgiving to be thankful for the ability to put food on the table!!
Among all of the wonderful things in my life that I am thankful for, my family is at the top. This year we have two new additions to the yearly Thanksgiving family dinner. Evelyn and Adalyn.
They are both the brightest little bundles of joy!! So I can say without a doubt that I am thankful that they are here.
The newest addition to my household this year is our puppy Nancy. She is such a loveable dog! I really couldn’t see a better companion to Sid. They really get along well.
Its the time of the year that you tend to take a step back from your busy life and truely appreciate the world you have around you. So many things have happened in one short year, and it feels like it all happened yesterday.
I am so excited for the years to come!! To see how my family grows and develops. Its a beautiful thing!! What are you thankful for??
Laughter is the best medicine. When we laugh not only is it an expression of joy but it also helps to keep your body healthy. We all have something that tickles our funny bone more than others. I pretty much laugh at just about everything, but that’s just me. Some people enjoy dry humor, self deprecating, silly, or etc. Whatever it is take time out of each day to laugh! Schedule in ‘funny time’ on your calendar for each day, and really try to focus on trying to bring that type of joy into your lives! Here is some funny pictures to get you started!
If you are frustrated with where you are in life do something to change it. If you hate your job and it brings you a lot of stress than turn inward. Find what makes you happy and take the steps to turn that into your job. ‘If there isn’t a door make one’. Focus that energy into something that will make your life better.
Problems are put in front of you to test you. If you are not happy with your current situation then you need to evaluate it. Is the universe putting you through this because it wants you to fight for better? I believe 100% that is what is happening. You are given situations that push you towards what your purpose is in life. So many of us ignore this because its comfortable to stay where you are at. But if you take the chance and you convert your frustration into the energy to change your life. Everything will get better.
Remember that everything is a lesson. No matter what you are going through you are being taught something valuable. So instead of rolling over and bemoaning the world for not being fair, flip the switch. Become what you want out of life. Make your current situation your fuel to finding your true calling. You can do anything you put your mind to. It just might take time to develop so do not give up!
As I have mentioned before I just finished training at my job for a new position. Something happened today that really resonated with me. When a person is teaching someone they need to make sure that whoever they are teaching has all the skills they need. Do not hold out on something simply because you like to know more than the people around you.
Its totally understandable for someone to know more about their particular set of skills than someone new. But when they withhold important information so that they have a one up on the next person. Are they really winning in that situation? When a problem arises and they are not there to deal with it then things can go very wrong.
But if you train someone full disclosure that person is more likely able to handle issues when they are not around. Leading to less work for them in the long run.
Remember that you should always take pride in your work but if that means you need to withhold information you need to rethink the situation. Who knows? You might learn something in the process. So if your out there teaching someone new give them all the tools they need. Your job might just get easier.
There is so much excitement that comes with Friday 🙂 Its in a very small way similar to the excitement you get from Christmas eve. But instead of waking up to a bunch of presents and Christmas cheer you get to sleep in late. Enjoy the morning…or late morning, relax a little, and spend time doing whatever you want for two days before you have to start a new week.
I always try to stay really busy at work on Fridays to make the day seem like its going faster. Then when I finally get out I’m like a kid that just got told they had a snow day. Its time to have fun! Do I work out today or not? Who knows! I’m an adult now and can do whatever I want with a few exceptions :P! So however you like to spend your weekend I wish you all the best, and hope you have a very relaxing two days!
